María José Abad
María José Abad is Managing Editor at Empantallados.com, a platform to help parents to educate their children in digital issues. She devises editorial strategies, coordinates collaborators’ team and consultant board; and develops synergies with other institutions and companies, with similar objectives.
Graduate in Journalism at Complutense University (Madrid). Master’s degree in Corporate and Political Communication at University of Navarre and George Washington University.
She was cabinet consultant in a regional government (Castilla-La Mancha, Spain); and Spanish content coordinator at Communication Department in World Youth Day Madrid 2011, an event with more than 1 million participants. As result of this experience, she co-wrote the book ‘The making of WYD Madrid 2011. Case study of a global event’ (“Así fue la JMJ y así se la contamos” EUNSA Editorial).
She was jury member of ‘Values Apps Awards 2018’, that recognizes apps that promote United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
Research team member of Smart Internet Users Association (Geneva. Switzerland) and conference speaker on topics related to technology, education and parenting.
